Short Bio.

A philosopher of science with a focus on biology and psychology, Paul was educated at Cambridge and the Australian National University. He taught at Otago University in New Zealand and was later Director of the Unit for History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Sydney, before taking up a Professorship in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh. He moved to Queensland in 2004 as ARC Federation Fellow and Professor of Philosophy to set up the Biohumanities Project.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, Affililiate Professorial Research Fellow in the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, annual Visiting Professor in the ESRC Centre for Genomics in Society at the University of Exeter, and an adjunct member of the Pittsburgh HPS faculty. Prof. Griffiths was recently appointed for a three-year term to the Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC) of NHMRC.
