I was born and grew up in Neumuenster in the very north of Germany, and immigrated to Australia in 1999. While a large part of my family still lives in Germany, many have gone afar just like me, to Austria, England, the USA and Chile. Educated in Germany, Austria and Belgium I have worked in Australia and the USA. I work as a researcher in philosophy of biology and cognitive science. After years in the US I have now returned to Australia, which I regard as my real home. I am married to my long-term research collaborator Paul Griffiths. Beside our professional interests we both love birds, the beach, the (Australian) bush, and of course bbqs.
